McCain flip flops on gay adoption

Well folks they went after John McCain on Gay adoptions so now he flip-flops his view.

"Sen. McCain's expressed his personal preference for children to be raised by a mother and a father wherever possible," the statement added. "However, as an adoptive father himself, McCain believes children deserve loving and caring home environments, and he recognizes that there are many abandoned children who have yet to find homes. John McCain believes that in those situations that caring parental figures are better for the child than the alternative."

Now remember just a little while ago this was his view.

Mr. McCain, who with his wife, Cindy, has an adopted daughter, said flatly that he opposed allowing gay couples to adopt. "I think that we've proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no, I don't believe in gay adoption," he said.

Why did John McCain flip flop?

The responses were condemned by gay and lesbian groups.

"He's completely out of touch," said Kara Suffredini, public policy director for the Family Equality Council. "There's no reason, except for the sake of red meat for his base, to throw up screens in the way of children in foster care getting homes."

Them gays came after McCain and he went a running for the Hills. Them gays be scary.

Only real heteros such as Charlie Crist should be able to adopt.

I wonder what McCain thinks about gay couples' use of artificial insemination, since Mary Cheney gave birth to a son last year.

uh oh, can't bring that up, remember the 2 weeks in 04 we had to hear about how classless it was to bring that up as the R's were wearing purple band aids mocking war wounds? Gotta love the media

Good point.  I wonder what his PR people would have him say about that (and what they would say the next day in order to "correct" the record).

Re: McCain flip flops on gay adoption (none / 0)

Oh, that's an easy one.  He would first deny that he ever said it.  Then he would get angry when pressed again about the issue and would once more deny that he ever said it.

Then the campaign would ignore it, hoping that everyone would chose the message they like best.

There's a good reason. (none / 0)

If gays can't adopt, then they'll work out some sort of impregnation scheme like the lesbians in Queer as Folk, which will result in quite a lot of non-hetero-normative sex, as viewed weekly on Showtime.

Hold on one second. Are you saying that McCain presented his position as something that is completely contradictory to what he said in the past? I am SHOCKED! Shocked, I tells ya!
